How does the Belgian political system work? What are the roles of the institutions, elected representatives and political parties? How are the decisions that affect our daily lives taken? In this interactive workshop, we explain the essential basics of the Belgian political system: the institutions, the role of the parties, the electoral process and the mechanisms of governance. Through practical exercises and lively discussions, young people discover how political decisions are made and what is at stake in the democratic debate. By confronting different points of view on topical issues, this workshop helps them to develop their critical thinking skills and their ability to analyse political discourse. The aim is to give them the keys to a better understanding of society and to engage with it as informed citizens.
